Privacy Policy

This page is maintained by the Mobile Aura team to answer common privacy questions about the app. It describes app-visible controls and current practices; it is not a certification.

Local Network Shield (VpnService)

We offer a "Network Shield" feature designed to restrict network access for specific apps on your device. To facilitate this, our application utilizes the Android VpnService to establish a local VPN connection. This connection is processed entirely locally on your device. We do not inspect, capture, store, or transmit any data routed through this connection, and no personal or network information is sent to our servers or third parties.

Our approach

Mobile Aura is built so that personal device telemetry never has to leave your phone. Every heuristic — battery curves, app usage patterns, network maps, well-being scores — is computed locally on your device.

Data we collect on-device

  • System telemetry: battery cycles, CPU load, thermal state, network throughput.
  • App usage metadata: foreground time, unlock counts, notification counts.
  • User-set preferences: targets, quiet hours, dashboard layout.

This data is stored in your device's encrypted application sandbox and is never transmitted to Mobile Aura or any third party.

Data we do not collect

  • No accounts, no email addresses, no phone numbers.
  • No advertising identifiers and no ad SDKs.
  • No browsing history or message content.
  • No precise location.

Crash diagnostics (optional)

If you opt in, anonymized crash reports may be sent to help us fix bugs. These reports contain stack traces and device model; they do not contain personal telemetry. You can disable this at any time in Settings → Privacy.

Permissions we request

  • Usage access — to compute screen time and per-app metrics.
  • Network state — to measure throughput and signal quality.
  • Battery stats — to estimate cell health and wear.
  • Notifications — to deliver weekly insights and quiet-hour nudges.

Your rights and controls

You can wipe all locally stored data from Settings → Reset Aura. Because we don't hold any server-side copies of your data, there is nothing additional we can delete on your behalf.

Children

Mobile Aura is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.

Changes to this policy

Material changes will be announced in-app at least 14 days before they take effect.
